Prof. Aparna Rayaprol is an associate professor at the Department of Sociology, University of Hyderabad, who works on Indian feminism, remigration and Diaspora. Prof. Rayaprol met with SINGLE project members to discuss the different waves of feminism in India and shared her concerns about the current gender politics. She also elaborated on the construction of masculinity in the city as well as feminization of public space and the role of remigration in the contemporary urban landscapes of Indian cities especially in relation to the lives of single women.
